The Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunga has stated that the university plans to reopen soon by providing both Covid vaccines to academic and non-academic staff members of the Sri Lankan university system. The Chairman has stated this while issuing a statement to the Government Information Department yesterday (17) regarding the speedy opening of the universities.
Also he added that both vaccinations have been completed for staff over 30 years of age and all universities have been instructed to take immediate action in coordination with the nearest health care centers in the respective districts for the vaccination of non-academic, academic staff and students under 30 years of age.
He has stated that, both the University Grants Commission staff over 30 years of age and below have been vaccinated and also that the process of enrolling students to universities for the coming year is currently underway.
Under the direct supervision of the University Grants Commission, a monitoring system has been implemented for the progress of the vaccination program for staff and students under the age of 30 in universities. He further stated that the universities are expected to reopen after discussions with the health sector, the Vice Chancellors of the universities and other relevant parties regarding the progress of the vaccination program.

பல்கலைக்கழக மானியங்கள் ஆணைக்குழுவின் தலைவர் சிரேஷ்ட பேராசிரியர் சம்பத் அமரதுங்க, இலங்கை பல்கலைக்கழக அமைப்பின் கல்வி மற்றும் கல்வி சாரா ஊழியர்களுக்கு கோவிட் தடுப்பூசிகளை வழங்குவதன் மூலம் பல்கலைக்கழகம் விரைவில் மீண்டும் திறக்கத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளதாகக் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். பல்கலைக்கழகங்களை துரிதமாக திறப்பது குறித்து அரசாங்க தகவல் திணைக்களத்திற்கு நேற்று (17) அறிக்கை வெளியிடும் போதே அவர் இதனைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
மேலும், 30 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட ஊழியர்களுக்கு இரண்டு தடுப்பூசிகளும் நிறைவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும், 30 வயதிற்குட்பட்ட கல்விசாரா, கல்வி ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் மாணவர்களுக்கு தடுப்பூசி போடுவதற்கு அந்தந்த மாவட்டங்களில் உள்ள அருகிலுள்ள சுகாதார நிலையங்களுடன் ஒருங்கிணைந்து உடனடியாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்குமாறு அனைத்து பல்கலைக்கழகங்களுக்கும் அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பல்கலைக்கழக மானியங்கள் ஆணைக்குழு ஊழியர்கள் 30 வயதிற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்கள் மற்றும் அதற்கு கீழ் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு தடுப்பூசி போடப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும், வரும் ஆண்டில் பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் மாணவர்களைச் சேர்க்கும் செயல்முறை தற்போது நடைபெற்று வருவதாகவும் அவர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
பல்கலைக்கழக மானியங்கள் ஆணைக்குழுவின் நேரடி மேற்பார்வையின் கீழ், பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் 30 வயதிற்குட்பட்ட மாணவர்களுக்கான தடுப்பூசி திட்டத்தின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக ஒரு கண்காணிப்பு அமைப்பு செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. தடுப்பூசி திட்டத்தின் முன்னேற்றம் குறித்து சுகாதாரத் துறை, பல்கலைக்கழகங்களின் துணைவேந்தர்கள் மற்றும் பிற தொடர்புடைய தரப்பினருடன் கலந்துரையாடிய பிறகு பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் மீண்டும் திறக்கப்படும் என்று அவர் மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.
