  • Teachers who are currently employed in state/private primary, secondary and higher education institutions who wish to upgrade their qualifications and are involved in continuous professional development
  • Those who wish to enter the field of teaching Tamil as a First Language
  • Those who wish to enter the field of teaching Tamil as a Second Language
  • Those who wish to gain ahonours degree qualification in Tamil and Tamil Language Teaching from a recognized institution

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • All applicants should be above 18 years of age.

           AND

  • Obtained a minimum of three passes at the G.C.E (A/L) examination with Tamil as a subject or an equivalent qualification
                                OR
  • Obtained a minimum of three passes at the G.C.E (A/L) in the Tamil medium with at least a ‘B’ grade in Tamil and Tamil Literature at the G.C.E O/L or equivalent examination
                                OR
  • Successfully completed the National Diploma in Teaching (Tamil Language) from National Colleges of Education
                               OR
  • Any other equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the OUSL.
